I will dominate 'legitimate combatant' Paul - Anthony Joshua
Anthony Joshua prepares to battle Jake Paul in an eight-bout fight which will be shown in real-time on Netflix.
Briton Joshua stated he will "overwhelm entirely" Jake Paul and "overpower" his opponent as the two fighters came face-to-face to publicize next month's heavyweight fight.
Ex two-time world boxing king Anthony Joshua faces YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul - in what is, on paper, a massive disparity - at Miami Kaseya Center on 19 December.
Boxer's Attitude
"I'm going to damage his features and damage his physique. My goal is to show I'm superior," Joshua, 35, declared.
"I plan to overwhelm him. That's how fighters think.
"I will genuinely try to hurt him. That's my intention."
Civil Exchange
In spite of those words, a composed Joshua and social media star Jake Paul - typically known for his theatrics - shared friendly words and kept it respectful with each other.
Paul instead attacked former Joshua rival Francis Ngannou and described him as "a joke" after the Cameroonian declined a match opportunity.
Taking Aim at Tyson Fury
Joshua, in the meantime, criticized UK rival Tyson Fury - and rejected a large bet 'The Gypsy King' states he will put on a victory for Paul.
"[Paul] outshines Fury - he's present here," Joshua commented.
"I respect him for that."
Legitimate Fighter
Despite stating he plans to damage his opponent, Joshua refused to talk badly about his opponent's fighting skills.
"Jake Paul is a credible opponent," he stated.
Jake Paul's History
Jake Paul - who originally gained popularity on the Disney Channel - has mostly boxed mixed martial artists or declining opponents since turning professional.
He was defeated by Briton Tommy Fury in last year.
Commercial Attraction
Still, the inexperienced fighter remains one of boxing's biggest commercial attractions, consistently making huge earnings.
Forecast and Belief
The 28-year-old anticipated a KO victory in rounds four or five and asserted he would stop the long-awaited Fury-Joshua bout, which is reportedly under discussion for two years from now.
"It will be my match with Fury in the coming year," Jake Paul said.
Size Difference
As Joshua and Paul met for the traditional stare-down, with their size difference evident, it highlighted just how improbable this complete situation is - and how remarkable it is that the match is really happening.
